Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt (2015) highlighted the need to identify the barriers and facilitators of Evidence Based Practice (EBP), organization culture and readiness for change before implementing the EBP. The hospital has focused on improving the quality of healthcare in the department to prevent patient falls, while integrating guidelines and EBP. The organization prioritizes providing safe, quality care to further prevent patient falls, especially among the elderly with EBP the basis for changing practice. The staff was concerned with that the problem of patient falls still persisted and there was a need to watch closely those who were frail and at risk of falls. One of the main barriers to implementing the EBP is the research information that nurses utilizes as there are diverse strategies and there was a need to identify what was feasible and most appropriate (Gale & Schaffer, 2009). At other times, there is a lack of time to identify clinically useful information when they have to interpret the information.
