Change management has become a critical aspect of these developments. Many factors come to play in the implementation of change that affects various stakeholders in the health setting, including patients, medical personnel, and administrators. Change can be easily accepted or can face resistance that leads to complications and failure (Ashkenas, 2013). In this light, evidence from different studies and situations show that change implementation in the health sector requires a strategic approach that ensures the continuation of quality health care services and alignment of the change with the objectives and goals of the health care system. Subsequently, change management has become a central undertaking in project management. Organizations across the world are using evidence-based approaches and best practices in the health sector to ensure that the objectives of the change are met. The change implementation process should take into account the needs of all stakeholders involved so that there is reduced resistance and increased chances for acceptance.
Research across various domains shows that the most effective means of implementing change for a strategic approach that is to involve most of the parties that might be affected by the change (LaGuardia et al., 1994).
