In self reflection, I see myself as being a positive factor in the IOM Future of Nursing Recommendation 4 concerning increasing the proportion of nurses with baccalaureate degree to 80 % by 2020. This view follows the zeal to be through with my studies in the soonest time possible. To achieve this, there is exercise of much effort to ensure success in every test involved in the process of getting the baccalaureate degree. Efforts are put to ensure completion of the studies so as to be crowned with the degree.
In the recommendation 5, there is a doubt in the ability to have contributed fully towards its achievement. There is no doubt that I have the ambition to get the doctorate degree, but it may not have actualized by this stipulated time. But there is no doubt that; by this time, I will be on the way to achieve this aspiration. By this stipulated time, the possibilities are that I would be doing the masters degree or have completed it. There is the aspiration to do the doctorate degree but there is the limiting time factor. I see myself fully complying with the recommendation 6 concerning ensuring that nurses engage in lifelong learning. This view is based on the realization of the importance of a nurse engaging in learning at all times. This is because; the issues in nursing field are dynamic.
