About 30.2 million of adults of age 18 years and above (which is 12.2% of adult in the U.S.A.) had diabetes in the same year; 7.2 million people (about 23.8%) were either not knowing that they had or did not just report that they had. People who are physically active have low risk (of 30-50%) of developing type 2 diabetes. It is recommended that screening for diabetes of all over-weight adults above 45 years old. Risk factors are ethnicity, family history, obesity and delivering babies of weight above 9 lb.
