Globally, fourteen percent was considered as the population of those who suffer from neuropsychiatric disorders. These disorders are named depression, alcohol or substance addiction, mental disorders, and psychoses (Prince et al., 2007). These quantitative data brought forth the attention needed in this field, which improved the resources needed to fight these disorders.
Ever since 1963, when the community resources were continuously developed, drastic changes of improvement have usurped and gave a concrete foundation to the Americans' fight for mental illness. National Institute of Mental Health supported these resources, gave birth to the national community mental health programs, and opened up mental health centers (National Institue of Mental Health (US), 1970). Programs for mental health in schools were also abundant for over two decades. In the United States, School-based mental health (SBMH) programs and services' image were being perceived positively, and federal supports were continuously increasing. SBMH is functioning differently from every school but focuses on one goal, the development of mental health care and the decrease of patients (Paternite, 2005).
