Abstract
Effective healthcare provision is a complex system that requires the cooperation of both the healthcare service provider and the receiver of the service. There are several factors that affect the healthcare service delivery both from the side of the care provider and the receiver of the healthcare services. One of these factors is the religious faith and believes that individuals have towards healing and their wellbeing. Notably, Christianity and Buddhism are among those religions that have very intense believes which guide individuals during the times of sickness and how they can prevent sickness. There are several world view questions that the religious believers ask themselves. The Christians question the reality of miracles, the love of good, and its relationship to sickness. The Buddhists on the other hand questions the origin of human suffering and pain. Who is responsible for the human suffering and how can it be stopped? The Buddhists believe that every human being should be accountable of their own lives while the Christians believe that God should help them in meeting their personal life accountability. The Christians believe that healing is by the power of God while the Buddhists believe that there is no supreme being in healing instead it's an individual meditation and actions that can help healing. The Buddhists do not believe in manufactured medicines, they believe in herbal medicines unlike the Christians. The Christians have a strong stand against contraceptives and birth control.
In essence the different views about religion influence the level of care which consequently affects the level of child healthcare. This paper shall focus on analyzing the above views and their role in healthcare service provision to the sick.
