After a series of research on the available internship programs in the healthcare operations management, one of the most notable program is the health program management in my area. This program features most in several non-governmental organizations that offer healthcare services to the local communities in my area. Among other several skills that the organizations need from the interns and volunteers are the project management skills. In this case, the operations manager need to manage the healthcare programs taking into consideration all the stages of program management from the initiation stage to its evaluation stage. Also, the individual needs to have practical leadership skills in managing teams and groups in the field while administering healthcare programs to the local communities. Communication skills are also necessary as the individuals are required to monitor and manage healthcare programs with the locals and also communication among team members. Communication skills are also necessary for reporting progress of the programs to the sponsors or organization running the program. Conflict resolution skills also featured in my search as essential skills that organizations are looking for in the interns and volunteers. Other opportunities that exist include the laboratory management which required analytical skills in analyzing laboratory results. Pharmacists also featured as one of the areas that organization needs and in this case medical, mathematical competency were a critical skill. Medical supplies management featured in my search as one of those areas that organizations and medical institutions are looking for interns and volunteers.
