She heard “it takes a while to become pregnant after being on the Pill,” so she discontinued them three months ago. They haven’t been using any contraception since then. Upon questioning, she states that on the Pill, sometimes her menstrual periods are very light and once she didn’t have one at all. Her urine pregnancy test in the clinic is positive. Her LMP was 7-14-12. You are seeing her on 12-3-12.
Post the estimated date of delivery for the patient in the case study you selected.
Include an explanation of how you dated a pregnancy and which of the patient’s factors led to your estimated date of delivery.
Then, based on the dating of the patient’s pregnancy, explain the appropriate clinical guidelines for procedures and screenings.

One of my clients visited the clinic on 12-3-12 was sure she is pregnant. She stopped using contraceptives three months ago. She previously experienced light menstrual periods that are not consistent while using contraceptives. Her LMP is 7-14-12. Her urine test in the clinic is positive.
Calculating the date of delivery
Based on the LMP of 7-14-12, the date of delivery is on 20th March 2013. Pregnancies are approximated up to 40 weeks starting from the LMP date. The client's due date is calculated by including a total of 280 days starting from the LMP date (Simkin, et al., 2016).
Appropriate clinical guidelines for procedures and screenings
According to the national health guidelines, each pregnant patient needs to receive a comprehensive assessment and risk related interventions including preterm labor, infectious disease and any genetic disorder. The guidelines also stipulate that each pregnant patient needs to receive specific screening tests, health education and immunization. Some of the tests include weight check, ultrasound examination (Schuiling & Likis, 2011).
