California School Nurses Organization role in advocating for school age students and school nurses in the political arena
California School Nurses Organization is a group of registered nurses working with private, public a charter school. The organization aims at promoting and strengthening its member's role in participating in primary health care within the community (California School Nurses Organization, 2017). California School Nurses Organization is among the nursing bodies that continue to evolve in response to the shifting health care processes and addressing the challenges facing school nurses. Despite the existence of other nursing bodies, California School Nurses Organization’s main role the organization is to advocate for school age students and school nurses with the political arena (California School Nurses Organization, 2014).
CSNO promotes safe care at school for children in California. CSNO advocacy efforts focus on guiding through training and encouraging School nurses to maintain professional care standards. California School Nurses Organization has strongly supported opportunities that give school nurses space to participate in public policy discussion (California School Nurses Organization, 2014).
The role of CSNO political action committee
The CSNO political action committee plays an important role in participating in reviewing legislation, discussing and presenting the CSNO official position on a bill. The CSNO political committee appoints the chairperson of the government relations committee, and the committee members are derived from the five different sections of the CSNO appointed by the division presidents. CSNO Committees are involved in training its future chairperson of the GRC committee in preparation for their future roles (California School Nurses Organization, 2014).
