Breast cancer is cancer that develops from breast tissue and mainly affects the women. However, in some cases, men are also affected. Breast cancer in most cases forms in cells from milk ducts lining and the lobules that provide the ducts with the milk. Some signs or symptoms of breast cancer include a lump in the breast, a modification in the breast’s shape and fluid emanating from the nipples. Those individuals with an advanced breast cancer in that the breast cancer has stretched out to distant sites past the auxiliary lymph nodes have signs such as breath shortness, yellow skin, and distended lymph nodes. Some of the causes of breast cancer include lack of physical exercise, obesity, drinking of alcohol, being female and lack of breastfeeding. It has also been established that light pollution is also a cause of breast cancer. Moreover, it has been established that individuals can also inherit the disease from their parents. The diagnosis of breast cancer is verified by biopsy, which is a medical test that entails the removal of tissues or sample cells for evaluation to establish the presence of the illness. Additionally, breast cancer exam can be a recommended as a preventive service, and it entails the examination of breasts by an experienced doctor or nurse so that they can establish if the person has developed the disease or not (Sumner, 2016). The preventive services are necessary because early detection of breast cancer prevents the risk of deaths because treatments are administered before the disease becomes chronic.
