The biggest advantage of public health spending is that it results in a reduction in the cost of medical expenses. Public health spending involves the act of preventing the occurrence of disease, prolonging life through the various informed choices made by society. It also aims at reducing the threats facing people in regard to diseases. Therefore, the result is that people live a healthier life due to the absence or reduced occurrence of diseases. This means that they do not have to spend much on paying for hospital bills. As well, through public health spending, there is a notable improvement in technology and new treatment procedures that accommodate a large number of people (Brown, Hunter, Marks, Salway, Gray, McCafferty & Vale, 2016). Hence, the new technologies and better medicine result in a quick recovery to patients, thus cutting on the cost that would have been spending to hold a patient in the hospital for long.
