The Government Should Pay For Birth Control
Student’s Name
Institutional Affiliation
The Government should pay for Birth Control.
The government should pay for birth control in the same way it funds the prevention of HIV-AIDs and other medical conditions. According to a study done by the association of gynecologists in Canada, approximately 61% of women get unintended or unplanned pregnancy. This is a clear indication that the government’s social policy is not effective and it should therefore cater for the cost of birth control (Adshade & Bell, 2018). However, some critics argue that a person should take responsibility of birth control since the government was not directly involved in the event. Nevertheless, evidence indicates that the government provides coverage and drugs aimed at preventing HIV infection for individuals who are at the highest risk of exposure. Therefore, the government should take responsibility of birth control since it will imply that minimal funds will be spent compared to spending heavily on healthcare.
