Strength training or otherwise referred to as resistance training, is a technique that is commonly used when it comes to building strong muscles and joints as well as the bones (Mayo Clinic, 2017). Ideally, the training involves the use of free weights, rubber resistance bands, weight machines or the body to build muscle strength. This is associated with the element of the muscles having to work harder to move, which helps them to grow stronger and become more effective (Hatfield, 2011).
