Course Framework
Health assessment and observation is a course that allows the student to assess the entire patient, which includes both the psychosocial and physiological aspects. In this course, the student learns basic assessment skills that entail cardiac, abdominal, respiratory musculoskeletal, and lymphatic systems. The students further learn how to collect and analyze data on a patient's health history and check the health status of the patient's ears, nose, eyes, and throat. After that, the students prepare a database and formulate initial nursing plans by using the nursing process. This course's main focus is to offer health services to different populations, promote healthy behaviors in individuals, and mitigate common health risks.

On successful completion of the health assessment and observation course, the student should be able to:
* Find out and describe the behaviors that directly relate to the well-being of a client.
* Collect the necessary data and analyze it appropriately.
* Extract data from a client of his/her health history through designated methodologies.
* Demonstrate evaluation skills deployed the exercise of physical examination in a patient.
* Formulate the tools that are required during the analysis of collected data.
* Deploy the percussion methods, auscultation, palpation, and inspections to illustrate a client's well-being through the collected data.
* Illustrate anatomical structures that underly in the sections where an assessment has taken place.
