My health behavior of concern in this essay is avoidance of smoking at all costs to protect my health. Smoking, whether active or passive, has adverse effects on human health. It is associated with cardiovascular illnesses and respiratory disorders. Awareness entails having detailed information and being conscious about a particular situation (Behavioral Diversity in Health Education, 2021). I became aware of the outcomes associated with smoking after consistent advice from and counseling classes at my primary school level. The adverse effects of smoking were well taught and understood by everyone in my class then. Constant advice from my parents, too, worked well to promote my understanding and awareness of smoking.
