Hospitals, where sick and ill people go to in order to seek help and medication, should be a place of comfort and suitable for recovery. Patients and their families should feel welcome and not being judged for their situation and their disease. Nurses, being one of the people who get to interact with patients in their whole stay at the hospital, must also get the same respect and care in carrying out their duties. They consume a great deal of time in the hospital to help in the patients' recovery and to tend to their needs. As such, it is just right that they must also get the same care and understanding that they are giving to the patients. Their sleepless nights just to fulfill their roles as medical practitioners must be at least compensated by respect not just by the patients and their families, but also by the whole administration. However, this is not consistently the situation for all hospitals. Sometimes, nurses are being abused verbally and bullied by their colleagues, superiors, and administrators. Nursing managers are tasked to ensure that the nurses are accomplishing their tasks well, and patients are being taken care of and given the comfort they need for their fast recovery. They monitor the schedules and responsibilities of the nurses under their supervision, and they ensure that the nurses are undertaking measures for their growth as professionals through their continuing education and career advancements. As such, they must also implement policies to ensure that their welfare is being taken care of, and none of the nurses are being bullied, mistreated, or abused. Not only should they care for the continuous professional growth of their staff, but they also should care for their whole wellbeing. They are responsible for ensuring that the workplace is safe for everyone, and no one is being mistreated. Aside from that, nursing managers themselves should also be equal and reasonable in the tasks and assignments they give to the nurses to ensure that everyone gets the rest they deserve, and no one is overworked.
On the other hand, nursing leaders are less involved in the tasks and duties of nurses than nursing managers. They have less interaction with the nurses, and they are tasked and o...
