How will I use A&P as an ST?
As an ST, I have the basic knowledge and understanding of how the human body performs its varying functions, and what types of changes take place in the brain, heart and other organs on a daily basis. For example, I know how the digestive system operates and what role the stomach plays in the body. According to Zennure Sahin, anatomy is the study of the structure of the body parts, and physiology is the study functions of all parts of the body (Sahin, 2016). I will use this knowledge to study different diseases, to help patients recover at a fast speed, and to provide the ill with quality care and medications. As a whole, the study of histology, cytology, gross anatomy and neurophysiology is important as it prepares nurses and doctors to face the challenges of tomorrow. If I had not gained an understanding of A&P, it would have never been possible for me to work in the hospital proficiently. The human body consists of various interacting systems, each of which contributes to a healthy life and ensures the maintenance of homeostasis. I have sufficient knowledge of how to treat people with varying illnesses, and I feel that this knowledge and my experience can be used to serve humanity.
How will this knowledge help to ensure that I am competent in the field?
I have learned that there are eleven central systems in the human body: the skeletal system, the lymphatic system, the muscular system, the digestive system, the respiratory system, the integumentary system, the endocrine system, the urinary system, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system and the reproductive system (Pak & Mehta, 2017). I strongly believe that the knowledge of all of these systems will help me prove my worth in a healthcare setting, as I will provide patients with quick and effective diagnosis and treatments, as well as medications. The information also hits on chemical makeup and how it pertains to life, and I will share this information with my clients (patients and their families) so that they can apply this knowledge to their lives in the future....
