Kaiser Permanente involves the integration of different care programs with more than 9 million health plan members. For the affordable care Act, there has to be the presence of a payer source. In this case, therefore, the payer source fully commits to the main roles given. One of the challenges faced while relying on payer sources is the inability to have federal guidance clarity on when to continue paying for the services. This only happens most of the time when the medical cases are not covered by the medical care plans. The organizations that enroll patients and have their payer sources switched find it a challenge in knowing whether the payer source still is reliable in paying for the patients’ medical needs. The reason behind this is because transitioning from one payer source to another requires the need to fill in various forms and also demanding details that would lead to a complete acceptance to transferable responsibilities. This mostly affects those that are far from their residence.
The support for the patients under the Affordable care Act require high-income payer sources. To be a part of such resourceful sources is not always guaranteed (Kocher & Adashi, 2011). Ethnicity and cultural differences is also a challenge when it comes to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Most of the organizations that are responsible for the Affordable Care Act are based on different cultural blends and the problem comes in when finding professional and qualified medical teams to run the various units.
