Mr. Jones is suffering from either pulmonary blood clot or orthopnea. The diseases result from the lower leg problem or blood travelling to lungs difficulties. Experience of dyspnea by a patient while lying in a flat position is Orthopnea; dyspnea is difficulty in breathing or uncomfortable breathing due to increased respiratory effort. Orthopnea is common in individuals with heart failure condition lying in leaning position or those who stay in the same position for a prolonged time. It results in increased respiratory rate and increased effort of an individual to get enough air due to failure of fully operational of the diaphragm as a result of pressure from the abdominal cavity of the patient.
