The Future of Epidemiology
Epidemiology is a division of medicine that focuses on the controlling of diseases, detecting the occurrences and risk factors associated with diseases as well as other health related factors. Today, Epidemiology faces both opportunities and challenges that affects its future in different ways. Based on Roberta, et al, (2009), readings, I can assert that the future of Epidemiology is more promising because of the improved technologies, growth of data and the reviewed values and ethics in the field despite few challenges.
The improved technologies in terms of communication facilities, and research technologies have helped in easing the scientific researches in the process of investigating etiologic determinants (Roberta, et al., 2009). In relation to the growth of data, epidemiology is likely to improve since the researchers will be served with existing big data for referencing purposes, and this well help in coming up with the better prevention and intervention method.
