Study designs offer a framework for accomplishing and meeting the objectives of the research. The cohort study entails a methodological approach that provides the best estimate in a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). It allows the researchers to take samples and investigate the exposure of the research participants over a period to gather data that can be analyzed to address the aspects under study appropriately. From this context, cohort studies are among the leading study designs employed in observational epidemiological research designs (Columbia University, 2017). The cohort study design is addressed as an epidemiologic research approach that facilitates the research to be conducted among subsets of a particular population based on how they relate to the factors hypothesized. In this case, the probability entails the influence of the stated factors on the occurrence of a particular disease or other results (Columbia University, 2017).
