Observational Comparative Analysis of Two Children
Observation
Two pupils were on the playing ground in the school. One was the girl of four years while the other was a boy of twelve years old. The young girl started looking at her shadow while running to 25-meter distance. She stood for a while and started screaming while looking at her shadow. The teacher came to her rescue and took her to the shade. Suddenly, she could not see the shadow as she struggled to look at her legs. After three minutes she unknowingly went back to the sunlight and saw the shadow. She began crying once more and ran towards the teacher. The other children in the classroom could not bear the laughter and laughed at her while the teacher comforted her. However, the girl noticed that the shade had gone when she climbed on the veranda. Three more boys who were the age mates to the boy came and stood by the way where the reflected light landed. One of the boys said that they should stay away from the shade of the veranda to get the reflected light on the wall.

The act shows that the child is conservative an illustration that she has a limitation in communication or cannot create a way of solving a problem. Piaget calls the period "Preoperational period." On the other hand, the young boy of twelve years holds the mirror and moves towards the veranda and backward at any moment the light disappears. Thus, he deve...
