Fostering student motivation is a challenging but crucial aspect of teaching that instructors and educators should consider. Some teachers have taught classes where the students are engaged, motivated, and excited about learning; however, teachers have also interacted with distracted, disinterested, and unwilling to engage. Different factors shape student's inclinations towards educational performance. It is critical to note that some students consider good academic performance as essential for influencing future growth and career development. On the other side, lack of motivation may create a barrier that hinders academic success. The social cognitive theory may explain that individuals' motivational processes are facilitated by factors such as goals, social comparisons, and outcome expectations (Schunk, Dibenedetto, 2019). Therefore, students' motivation can facilitate better performance when the learner focuses on the outcomes, such as better grades and recognition.
