Based on the information in this week’s required reading from the text (Carey, 2014), develop a tool to explain learning theory to your students and/or their parents. Make the writing accessible to the age/audience you are addressing.
You have several choices :
Identify your focus audience—students of a particular age, parents, or, if you are not a classroom teacher, some other group of constituents or professionals.
Determine what product you would like to create. The possibilities are open, but could include materials such as:
A welcome letter, handout, or brochure for parents explaining how learning theory is informing your pedagogy for the year
A visual that you have created to present information about learning to your staff or colleagues (particularly appropriate if you are not a classroom teacher)
A video that explains learning for your students
Your submission should include:
A short explanation of what you have created and why you chose to make that particular tool
The actual product you will use with students, parents, or colleagues
Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.

Pedagogy is understood as the science and art of instructing children. Educators should study learning theory in order to become more effective in their role as educators.
Learning theories are a set of ideas that try to describe the way the learning process takes place (Carey, 2014).

There are various theories that explain how people learn.
The major ones are behaviourism, cognitivism, and constructivism theories, although there are also connectivism theories. This brochure explains to parents how learning theory is informing my pedagogy for the year.
Behaviourism Learning Theories
These theories assume that learners are fundamentally passive and they would be shaped by means of negative and positive reinforcement.
As such, learning occurs when there is a behaviour change.

According to Skinner (2014), behaviour is a function of its consequences. This means that a student would repeat the desired behavior if he/she is given positive reinforcement.

If the teacher gives the student negative feedback, the student should not repeat the behavior.
When negative or positive feedback is given immediately, the student would be able to behave in a certain manner (Skinner, 2014).
Cognitivism Learning Theories
As per these theories, if children understand learning, they have a higher likelihood of finding consistency and meaning when they search for new knowledge and align it with prior knowledge (Minter, 2013).
Cognitive theories of learning are focused on thinking and knowing.
According to these theories, perceiving and doing, demonstrated in the play and manipulation, precede the ability to symbolize, which consequently prepares for comprehensive understanding.
In addition, these theories suppose that the complete act of thought follows a rather common sequence, which is: stimulation of intellectual interest; initial examination of the problem; formulation of ideas, hypotheses, or explanations; selection of suitable ideas; and confirmation of their appropriateness (Minter, 2013).
