Each requires a clear purpose, a range of materials and activities, and a means of assessment or evaluation. While centers must take into account individual needs, interests, and levels of learning, there are unique considerations for children at different ages. There are many forms of intelligence. However, most people only value brainy kids, believing that they are the only children with “intelligence.” People do not acknowledge that art intelligence is also essential and that kids will benefit from having this intelligence and talent in the future. The lack of value for creativity makes art a conventional concept. Friedrich Froebel, the Father of Kindergarten, suggests that art is an essential component of childhood experiences because it allows them to appreciate themselves and others. Furthermore, he explains that it inspires children to extend their imagination to reach their full potential (Fox & Berry, 2008).
Naturally, children are curious about everything. They like to probe and inquire about the things they cannot understand, and often, children do not care if their exploration fails or succeeds. Children are fond of trial-and-errors. The non-stop inquisition allows for the brain to develop fully. Thus, art a typical way to promote the free play. Consequently, it helps develop autonomy through a muddled form of experimentation. Moreover, art aids the children in developing milestones, such as gross and fine motor skills CITATION Rym15 \l 1033 (Rymanowicz, 2015).
Aside from these, new evidence suggests that arts can positively impact academic, emotional, and social aspects. The more a child is immersed in arts educational experiences, the more remarkable are the outcomes. Studies illustrate that a reduction of 3.6% in disciplinary actions against students has been demonstrated by the children who are inclined to arts. Moreover, these children showed a 13% increased in standardized writing scores and 8% improvement toward a benevolent character. Moreover, because the arts deal with the abstract and less of the logic, exposure to the arts improves one’s perception of other people’s feelings and increases the urge to help others receiving inadequate treatment from society (Kisida & Bowen, 2019).
Furthermore, children who engage in the art are found to have more life aspirations, better school engagement, and higher empathy for others. In school works, these children are more likely to engage in activities and coordinate with their teammates. They do not think that group works are annoying. Instead, they think that group works are enjoyable (Kisida & Bowen, 2019).
Knowing these pieces of information, the governments worldwide must be encouraged to construct more arts-based centers inspired by various specialties like music, visual and performing arts, architecture, and fashion, and interior design. Arts-based centers open possibilities to children that logic cannot provide (Moore, 2018).
