It is mainly dedicated to help leaders of different countries shun hatred and depict good leadership skills that can bind citizens from different ethnic backgrounds. The Museum has just about 400 employees with a total of 125 contractors and more than 175,000 members. The Museum was officially dedicated to the public in 1993 and since then it has received more than 30 million visitors. There are tens of thousands artifacts kept in the museum with more than 49 million pages of archival information documenting the occurrence of the holocaust. The museum also has oral history that was narrated by the survivors of the holocaust. When one moves around the museum, there are lots of shocking revelations that a person is likely to encounter. There is is advisable that a person prepares psychologically for the traumatizing events that he/she is likely to experience while in the museum. Children under the age of 11 years are however not advised to visit the museum since there are lots of raw footage and pictorial representations of death which could be disturbing to the young children.
