Design a Classroom calendar for a young children’s classroom, preschool- 2nd grade.
The opportunity to develop your own school-year calendar. (Your Calendar can be based on either a 10 month or 12 month if you have a summer session –no points off if it is just a 10 month calendar) Your design can be submitted as a monthly calendar, seasonal calendar or full-year calendar. you might choose to view online…There are many samples (and great ones, online).
Design your Calendar to include at least one Special @ month. This should include…. Parent/family Inservices/presentations, Field Trips, Parent/Teacher Conferences, Teacher/Staff Trainings, Family Activities (Mother’s day Tea, Fire Truck visit, walk to the Post Office, Puppet Show….to name a few). This will keep you grounded to understanding the roles and responsibilities of the classroom teacher, keeping parents aware of “all” that is going on in your classroom….from the Curriculum, Environment, Common Core Standard and how you offer to your students the many philosophies that our early childhood educators….gave to us by viewing your School Calendar. This can be an enticing, creative and fun activity!

My Preschool Curriculum and Calendar
This rotating curriculum is theme based. Sometimes I will stick to the plan, and the other times, I will encourage my students to learn things outside the classroom. In the meantime, they will be allowed to ask questions and to suggest their own themes depending on their tastes and expectations. I have made this rotating curriculum for different reasons. First of all, I have found that most of the package curriculums focus on skills my students will master at an early stage. For example, they will be taught counting of 2 to 20 and names of different colors and will be helped know most of the phonics along with lowercase and uppercase letters. In addition, I will teach then ten shapes and some of the basic numbers.
It is a common observation that worksheets are not given as much importance as they should actually be given. I believe that these are a good way to help students gauge their own writing and reading skills. I will want my students to select their own collection of worksheets.
