Why I Want To Be a Merchant Mariner
When growing up, people have different aspirations on what they want to become in the future. Making a decision on the career to pursue in the future is critical. Having dreamt of becoming a merchant mariner since I was a child, I would like to be admitted to the unlicensed apprentice program at your institution.
I would like to be a merchant mariner so that I can fulfill my childhood dream. Growing up, I dreamt of choosing a career that would allow me to explore the world. I believe that being a merchant marina would offer me the opportunity to be more adventurers. The amazing sunrises and sunsets while on the sea and the never-ending stories to narrate to people back at home is satisfying for me.
Additionally, the career will expose me to different cultures. Individuals working as merchant marines get to meet people from different cultures and nationalities. This is an opportunity to be exposed to cultures and traditions that are different from mine. I would like to know what goes on different parts of the world. The move will allow me to become a better team player, especially when dealing with people from different cultures.
