Charleston ENT & Allergy has an immediate opening for an experienced Compliance Coding Specialist. This critical position works behind the scenes in our Centralized Billing Office to ensure accurate, complete, and timely capture of all professional services for all fourteen locations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Communicates with Coding and Compliance Manager any problem/patterns with information supplied by providers regarding diagnosis specificity: any problems regarding outpatient charges, and any patterns in errors made in physician coding.
• Links ICD-10-CM codes to appropriate procedure codes (E/M and CPT) on clinic router: assigns appropriate modifiers, verifies NCCI bundling edits, balances charges, and applies office prepayments to accounts/encounters.
• Verify accuracy of ICD-10-CM and CPT 4 procedures documented by clinic staff/providers for outpatient clinic services and enters information into practice management system.
Qualified candidates must have at least one year of previous medical office experience. Candidates must have completed a coding program from an accredited school. CPC certification is preferred or ability to receive certification within six months of hire. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills.
