Ethical conflicts take many forms in the business sector, some of which can be extremely expensive to the parties that have been duped.One of the major cases that ever took place in the history of ethical conflicts involved the Enron Corporation which took place before 2001 when the case came to light. The company exploited some of the loopholes in accounting and reporting to hide billions of dollars that the company was losing (Sekerka,Bagozzi, &Charnigo, 2009). Although the company was making massive losses, the accountants at the firm defrauded the board of directors, customers and shareholders that the company was doing fine, until 2001 when the company went under and the truth came out.
In light of the foundation of care/harm, it is unethical that the officials at the firm defrauded many pensioners who had placed faith in the company, after working for years on end (Suazo&Turnley, 2010). Thousands of senior citizens lost their livelihood.It was also unfair that, the officials at the firm and the accounting firm would take it upon themselves to swindle the shareholders of their hard earned billions of dollars in an effort that could have had one result failure.
