Our management team role entails the formulation of policies, roles and responsibilities and assigning the relevant people to perform these roles and responsibilities. In the formulation of our departmental objectives and performance, the management plays an important role in the formulation of the performance plans, provision of resources and the relevant indicators for the performance CITATION Mil13 \l 1033 (Milakovich & Gordon, 2013).
The oversight role lies on the hands of the departmental oversight authority. The departmental oversight authority has the role to follow up on the progress and the performance of the department in accordance to the departments laid down plan and performance indicators. Therefore, the responsibility of monitoring and reviewing the plans of the organization lies on the hands of the departmental oversight authority. Thus, the failure to achieve the performance indicators solely lies on the hands of the departmental oversight authority. They should have noticed the failure of the department to achieve the performance indicators earlier before evaluation. The department on the other hand, could have taken it as their responsibility to review the plan and find out why they have not achieved the performance indicators. The department could then take appropriate steps to achieve the performance indicators. In general, the oversight authority failed in its oversight role.
