Social Media and Activism

Essay Instructions:

Take the material we've covered in the last few weeks into consideration as well as your own exploration of social media platforms in your other classes and life experiences and address the following.
What creative/strategic uses of social media by activists have you noticed? Describe and discuss at least three of them.
Do these uses align with any specific stage of the social movement? If not, why do you think that is?
Finally, describe one way your own social media use might be altered by your increased awareness of social media's role in contemporary activism if you ever decided to participate in a movement (note: if you have done this in the past, it's fine to use this as an example to discuss, but I'm looking for your new thoughts on social media use. Also, feel free to keep your commentary ambiguous if you are using an example of activism you have participated in yourself).
