OBAMA CARE HEALTH CARE PUBLIC OPINION Name Institution Affiliation Course Date of Submission Obama Care Health Care Public Opinion Instrumental public policies are due to preference by citizens in terms of cost and the expected benefits for individuals and society at large. Therefore, public opinion is said to be the main propeller of democracy by determining what government should do under various prevailing circumstances, both perceived and imminent. The opinions affect the implementation of public policies significantly by reacting directly to the objective events (Maddow, 2012). For public opinions to be effective there are other forces that influence the public opinion through education and provision with helpful new information. Such forces include politicians, experts and events in addition to mass media reports (Page, et al. 1987). This essay will examine whether the utility of policy depends on the beliefs and the state of nature presently and future relationship with respect to Affordable Care act. The Affordable Care Act which is popularly known as Obamacare that is anticipated to be fully implemented at the beginning of 2014 is predicted to be a disaster far and wide (Krugman, 2013). From a political perspective point of view, the republicans are counting on an administrative disaster cautioning consumers on terrible shock ahead. It is a common phenomenon to encounter problems with new government initiatives, and this case the opposing force of this policy are doing everything to sabotage reforms (Chait, 2013). Since the current president is popular, the public opinion is influenced to the implementation of the policy, and the president`s position is in response to public preference in anticipation of future public opinion that influences one another.
