The element of celebrity endorsements has become a pervasive factor both in the political scenario and the advertisement industry in the United States of America. Celebrity endorsements have become a multi-million dollar industry that has wood consumers and voters into making decisions ion regard to a product and a leader. Marketers and political figures make use of the celebrity endorsers to influence the purchasing and voting decision with the aim of increasing the sales and voter decisions within a market (Mishra, & Mishra, 2014). It is essential to note that consumers find celebrity endorsements attractive and influential and make their purchasing decisions based on the endorsements. This aspect has also been noted in the political arena where celebrities have been used to impact the voter decisions of states.
Considering this, it is essential to note that the history of Warren Harding depicts the manner in which film stars have the capacity to influence masses into the political campaigns. Presidential campaigns have also used celebrities to spur their campaigns with examples of this depicted in the campaigns of John F Kennedy who received the support of Rat Pack, Sammy Davis Junior and Dean Martin (Garthwaite, & Moore, 2008). The Kardashians state as the hottest family that stands out in Hollywood with their reality show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" that has close to 4.7 million viewers. A study was conducted that found out that children would eat more potato chips after watching commercial advertisements on TV that featured in the figures of sports personalities in England. This factors point out to the influence that the celebrity endorsements have on convincing a population.

This therefore refers to the competition for the ability to control and shape the direction and content of the public’s policies.
