FEMA provides disaster support as financial or direct support to people and families whose property has been destroyed as a consequence of the government-declared disaster and their damages cannot be covered by insurance. The individual’s assistance program comprises of both housing assistance to help victims with housing needs. Individual assistance comprises various programs, but this paper will focus on three programs, including the Individuals and Households Program, Mass Care and Emergency Assistance, and Disaster Unemployment Assistance.
Mass Care and Emergency Assistance
Mass Care comprises of directly assisting the victims with congregate shelter, feeding, and water. They also distribute emergency materials and reuniting offspring with their parents, as well as grown-ups with their families.
