Who is a social media influencer? Virkkunen and Norhio (2019) describes a social media influencer as an individual who has amassed a large following on social media platforms. Such individuals often use their social media platforms to promote products or brands, which earn them a significant amount of money from their endorsements. Social media influencers have become some of the most popular on the internet. With a dedicated following of fans, these social media users have turned their hobbies and interests into full-time careers. With success witnessed among many social media influencers, many people are left wondering what it takes to become a successful social media influencer. My interview with Zihan Wang, a famous social media influencer, shed some light on becoming a successful social media influencer.
Zihan Wang is an influencer who shares her daily outlook on social media. She has over 200,000 fans in Little Redbook, one of the most popular Chinese social media. Being passionate about her career as an influencer, connecting with her audiences, being persistent, considering the proper media account, and buying Little Redbook exposure have made Zihan gather over 200,000 followers. She is now living many contemporary girls' dream job as a successful social media influencer. What she needs to do is match cute clothes and jewellery to display. She earns much more love and money, though she is neither a model nor a sale in the store. This profile focuses primarily on becoming a successful influencer through social media as viewed from the twenty-two-year-old Zihan daily outlook influence evaluation with social media.
First and foremost, Zihan advises that successful social media influencers need to be passionate about their work. They are genuinely interested in helping others and constantly seek new ways to grow their following and impact the world. The COVID pandemic lockdown, for example, gave Zihan the impulsion to try something interesting. "I'm always interested in social media influencers, and I use social media every day. When I interned at Ogilvy in 2019, I found that the work contents of those influencers are not so hard. During the pandemic lockdown, the idea again appeared in my brain why I cannot have a try." With much time from the lockdown, Zihan developed a passion for social media which led her to influence girls to dream in their daily outlook. Therefore, passion is one of the most critical qualities social media influencers need to have to succeed. Passion drives social media influencers to create exciting and engaging content for their followers. This type of content attracts and keeps followers interested, which helps social media influencers to build a following and generate advertising revenue.
Additionally, passionate social media influencers are more likely to successfully promote their brands and products because they are interested in what they describe.
