XYZ Motors being a renowned company, has the option to use various business revitalizationstrategies to save the company from succumbing to the loss of market share. The company can explore the following business revival strategies.
First, is through rebranding; the company can rename its current products and drop the old name altogether(Morden, 2012). This is best applicable in cases where loss of market share may have arisen due to bad publicity of the product and subsequent loss of customer confidence in it or if the product was in the decline stage of its life cycle(Morden, 2012).
Second strategy is throughproduct diversification and differentiation; over time, customers may get used to same product with the same features resulting in monotony and lack of appeal. In addition, competitors may have introduced products that are very similar to those of XYZ Company in a bid to snatch a share of the market from the company(Morden, 2012). The company should consider adding new features in its auto-mobile products to make them more appealing to the current and potential customers while at the same time emphatically differentiating them from those of its competitors(Morden, 2012). They should also introduce new products to the market to keep up with the ever-changing customer needs.
Lastly, through aggressive advertising, the Company should consider aggressive advertising strategy including customer retention advertising strategy to remind current customers why they should remain loyal to the company as well as customer awareness advertising to update them on new products or new features in the current products(Morden, 2012). XYZ Company can also launch an advertising strategy to woo new customers and win back those it lost to its competitors.
Viability of the Indian Market
XYZ Company should carefully research on the viability of the Indian market through a number of viability studies(Sergers, 2016). Assessing the level of competition in the Indian market to see whether the market is easy to penetrate or not. The extent of competition will determine the strategy to adopt to effectively penetrate market.
The company should study the demographics of India and seek to understand the culture, social status, age and gender issues so as to know the appropriate product to sell in that particular market(Sergers, 2016). For instance, wealthy Indians may prefer luxury cars to any other type of cars.A general geographical study to understand the nature of the terrain in India may also go a long way in determining the best vehicles that suit the nature of terrain and roads in the country.
