Marsha uses the accommodating conflict management style. She cooperates during conflicts to a high degree. After realizing that she only received a salary increment of approximately 7% while two senior tutors gained 9%, she approached Professor Fred Massie to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. Given her accommodating nature of conflict management, she gave in to Professor Massie’s reasons for not giving her a 9% increase. She was able to understand why Fred did what he did. Marsha accommodated the reasons and agreed to wait for an increment in future. Her relationship with Professor Massie remained as it was even after their dialogue. She believed that Professor Massie was his superior and he had a better solution for the matter. However, the accommodation style of managing conflict worked against her in some way. The style was against her objectives and goals.
Marsha is an ambitious person. She had set her goals properly. Her goals were to perform highly in the institution because salary increments were based on performance.
