A couple of years back, entrepreneurship was not viewed or perceived as a career. Despite the immense benefits that were seen to contribute in society, it was always shoved aside as secondary job. Entrepreneurship was seen as an alternate job for those who could not make into formal employment (Morris, 2012). This mentality has since changed and people have a very different understanding of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship has it fair share of ups and downs. Having closely examined and assessed the both sides of the coin, I am of the view that being an entrepreneur is a good match for me.
One important characteristic of entrepreneurship is risk taking. For one to successfully make it in business, they must be willing to take risks. Sometimes one invests without knowing whether the investment will make returns and if so, after how long. It is a mere risk which could result to huge losses or huge profits. Entrepreneurship is an everyday learning where one learn and make mistakes in order to get wiser (Gordon et al, 2009). I have a position of trying out new things and seeing how they turn. I know better that there is nothing worse than to wish that one had tried something as opposed to having the fear of trying it anyway.
Business Ideas
There are a couple of ideas that I have been toying with lately which I believe if I strategize seriously I could go big. One of the business ideas is to start a mobile boutique or beauty shop. This will be a fully complete beauty store that not only sells beauty products but also coinciding services. For instance, the mobile shop will have a fully equipped salon and beauty parlor.
