Coca-Cola drinks remains one of my favorite brand in the carbonated soft drink industry. In my opinion, nothing beats the taste of Coca-Cola drinks as they are manufactured to go with everything. The taste and formula used to produce Coca-Cola drinks have remained unchanged since it was launched, which has been over 129 years. The Company is not only the biggest selling and most popular soft drink brand in the U.S market, but also is one of the most recognizable brand globally and in history. However, the company’s products faces stiff competition from rival companies such as PepsiCo and Nestlé.
According to Google Trend, Coca-Cola has the highest global search rate compared to PepsiCo and Nestlé. Particularly, Coca-Cola recorded an average of 57% interest buzz over the last 1 year with the highest record of 91% on December 2016 globally. On the other hand, PepsiCo and Nestlé recorded an average search rate of 16% and 19% over the last 1 year respectively. The trend data suggests that Coco-Cola brand has the highest global popularity due to its wider and numerous interest search on the internet. A higher search interest implies that the company’s products and its related activities have created a palpable “Word of Mouth” (WOM) frenzy or media buzz, which is vital in boosting its brand (Drexel University, 2017). In a marketing perspective, the trend reveals that Coca-Cola products are doing better than those of its competitors both locally and globally. In other words, the higher the interest searches, the higher the customers’ preference to the products (Ho, 2017).
