Traditional American Business Vs Business in another Country
There are business practices that guide different countries. Some of these practices may be the same while others may be different. Italy and the USA have significant differences in their business practices. Normally, business practices are guided by: “fundamental principles of business culture”, first contact greetings, how people present themselves, business relations, gifts, business communication, and dress codes (Santandertrade.com, 2018). In the US, being punctual is key to business meetings. The business culture takes seriously the concept that “time is money”. However, in Italy the focus is on politeness and good manners. Therefore, people should never be kept waiting as that may be taken as being impolite and lazy. In the US, businessmen try to be direct and listen to ideas that people have with humor. As long as one has an interesting business idea, they would be listened to even if they do not have an appointment.
