The rise of technology in the information age has significantly revolutionized almost every industry. The rise of the internet has especially transformed the different industries from the traditional system limited by geographical boundaries to the modern, convenient, and efficient state where physical boundaries are slowly fading. Electronic commerce, popularly known as e-commerce, is undoubtedly one of the greatest creations of the internet in the contemporary world. In the infantry days, e-commerce was mainly adopted to fit the business-to-consumer model. This made retailers the early adopters of e-commerce technology. After retail, the service industry followed suit in adopting the e-commerce model. This development saw services such as education, banking, hospitality, media, and entertainment adopting the technology. The novelty and convenience brought about by the e-commerce technology made it popular, and it attracted many competitors. The competition in offering this convenience is what led to the establishment and development of the current giants in the field, such as Amazon and Alibaba. The continued rise of these companies is a clear indication that the future of e-commerce is brighter now, more than ever.
The growth of e-commerce is expected to continue rising. As Ferrera and Kessedjian (2019) assert, there are over 4 billion internet users around the world. This number is expected to continue rising as companies such as Akamai Technologies continue making the internet faster and more efficient. This growth of the internet only shows a bright future for e-commerce around the globe. More than ever, it has increasingly become easier for anyone to sell and buy online. The convenient nature of online shopping makes e-commerce more attractive than the traditional brick-and-mortar shopping experience. According to Harrisson-Boudreau and Bellemare (2021), e-commerce is expected to grow further by approximately $11 trillion between 2021 and 2025. More e-commerce sites continue popping up on different sites across the globe as the demand continues to rise. The COVID-19 pandemic skyrocketed e-commerce sales, and even after the pandemic, sales continue to rise. This is an indication that e-commerce growth is expected to continue rising in the coming years. Part B

The company was founded on the ideals of making the internet faster to increase its efficiency. Through the servers, the company is able to achieve this goal by ensuring there are copies of content such as different web pages and video clips within the proximity of a web server. Internet users are more impressed by the faster internet due to the increased efficiency.
