Swire Group is a diversified conglomerate company that was founded over two centuries ago. A conglomerate is a company that operates in different industries under one corporation. The swire group has its operational headquarters in Hong Kong and registered headquarters in the UK. Swire Pacific Limited acts as the parent company and runs operations within Asia with other subsidiaries running operations around the world. In Australia, John Swire and sons run the operations while Sri Lanka runs East Africa, UK and the US and Papua runs New Guinea.
The company has had a long trek into the international market where it has placed itself as a major player in the different industries that it engages in. Sone of the industries includes shipping, manufacturing, agriculture, mining, wholesale and retail, food chain, property among others. Due to the nature of its business, the company found it necessary to develop several subsidiaries to operate in different regions and industries (Lang, 2017). The strategy was adopted as a way of the company to brand itself in the different industries and regions. The subsidiaries have independent management but are controlled by the parent company. In its operations, the company has shown a high level of excellence and commitment.

Swire Group can be quoted as a very successful company in the international market given that in the over two centuries it has been operational it has managed to develop extensively.
