Human resource management is the largest department in most of the organizations. Most people think that the only reason for the creation and existence of the HR department is for the employees to go there when there is conflict, when they need assistance or when there is a compliance issue. Strategic human resource management in a company ensures that there is career development, organizational development and training development to ensure that the workers are equipped with justifiable skills to deliver quality outputs. To achieve the various company's strategic direction there are specific roles which are attached to the HR management. Some of the roles which are attached to the human resource management to facilitate the company's strategic direction are discussed in this paper.
Selection and staffing
When a company sets specific goals to achieve, the individuals employed in that sector are the ones expected to facilitate the achievement of those goals. The company needs to select qualified staff members who shall effectively achieve the companies set goals. The HR should be aware of the direction of the company so that they can be able to facilitate the needed effort to achieve the set goals CITATION Bob04 \l 1033 (Bobiniski, 2004). The staff selected can be able to respond to the problems within the company by identifying the solutions. The strategic HR should have the potential to plan for workable conditions right away from the start to the end as marked by the attaining of the set goals.
Organizational Development

To meet the new demands then the company should have strategic HR, which is capable of initiating and supporting these changes within the company. Adoption of new mechanisms within the company should not be hectic to the strategic HR. The strategic HR should be flexible to initiate these change and facilitate the achievement of the companies set directions. Moreover, the strategic human resource should have unique insight on how those changes will have an impact on the company.
Employee Training and Development
Besides the above roles, the strategic planning is entitled to training and development of the human resource workforce for the company. Research in the HR shows that 20% of the workforce employed in the companies have skills which will not be needed ten years to come. To attain the strategic direction of the company the training and development of the HR sector will be crucial CITATION Bon14 \l 1033 (Bonny, 2014). To help the strategic HR conquer challenges which might arise within the company in the future, the HR should be conversant with the modern knowledge and skills. The only way to attain these skills is through training.
