The use of social media as a marketing tool is essential since it will help grow one's business and pad their wallets. It, therefore, plays a vital role when it comes to planning a marketing strategy. During this era, it will look so backward for anyone to think what social media would do for their business. Any business person who has envisioned their business to grow strategically understands the importance of social media marketing. But for those who still don’t know, the following are the roles that social media play in marketing.
Social media has a role in driving targeted traffic. Creating a page on social media and posting on it not only helps the business not to beg for attention but also avoid costs. The world can see the posts and then engage in basking in the posts’ brilliance. A single link can attract a huge number of visitors thus tapping the market directly at the lowest cost possible. The other thing social media does is to boost the business site’s SEO (The Content Factory, 2017). With social media, it is easy to search the pages that are earning traffic and those that don’t with the help of Search Engine Crawlers. Through social media, a business can easily connect and acquire knowledge from the leaders of the industries and the consumers.
A good relationship with the customers is best built through social media. The interaction the business gets with their customers on social media like Instagram and Twitter is one of the things that make social media marketing cool. Through their status updates and tweets, the business can get the insights of their daily lives and thus be providing them with exactly what fits them. The fact that most users view social media like social networks and not marketing channels will make them see what the business is advertising (The Content Factory, 2017). The ads of social media play a vital role that allows the business to target their customers and retarget them.
Identification is another role that social media plays. During events, the business can easily be noticed through social media. This is especially if it is the one sponsoring the event. Social media does not only help in leveraging the business’ presence but also help them to generate coverage of media that is earned. It is easy to respond to problems promptly as the customers will easily point them out on social media. Brand loyalty is another role that social media earns a business.
