Semi-connected Inc. is a manufacturing company that specializes in the manufacture of electrical and electronic components that are used in computers, home appliances, and other automobile systems as well as in telecommunication. Most of the company exports have been going to Asia, with the primary market in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, China and Taiwan. Having got wind of an impending new entry into the Taiwanese market, semi-connected Inc. Embarked on setting up a foreign plant in Taiwan to cement the Asian market and wad of competition. The company hired local financial experts, and that led to the belief that the success could be replicated in China and other Asian countries. Fear of competition drove the company's decision to replicate production firms in another Asian country. The study explores how the company can be organized to handle new foreign production facilities. It will further analyze how the company could reduce the time needed to bring new designs to the market.
