Introduction
Sales promotion helps improve a company’s sales by forecasting and changing consumer’s purchasing behavior and patterns. It involves all activities that are not part of the normal operations such as special offers, demonstrations, displays, money-back guarantees, coupons, referral discounts, cashback promotions, and other non-recurring selling initiatives. Sales promotion play a vital role in boosting sales, attracting new customers and retaining new customers, increase brand reputation, increase company competitive edge, promote new products, and activate old products, to name a few.

Even though I do not consider myself a frequent apparel buyer, Nike’s 25% discount during birthdays is hard to ignore. During my birthday, as a way of treating and appreciating myself, I gifted myself with all-weather training gear.
