Rogers Communications still has a an opportunity to shed of the threats, challenges and weakness it is currently facing and instead maximize on the ready opportunities and rise above the competition.
In terms of threats; its major threat is the strong competition from its main competitors who include Bell Canada, BCE Master Trust Fund and Kilmer Sports who also control a considerable stake in wireless, television distribution, telephone services as well as content of televisions. Another major threat comes from Telus the competition here being for the wireless services which is lucrative and every player has positioned well to dominated the industry. In addition Rogers faces threats of Global recession which causes reduction in revenue as well as changes in government policies which threatens smooth operations of the company.
Some of the strengths of the company which have helped the company to remain a profitable entity and the company should maintain include diversification, since the company has diversified into the areas of Specialties, media, cable and media, this is very good for its survival in the midst of such a strong competition.
