The Church Should Acknowledge Gay Marriage
One of the most controversial topics in the world today is whether gay marriage should be allowed in the church. The issue has been a constant source of several controversies among several denominations in the world. Some churches do support while others have refused to acknowledge it at all (Messner, 2010). In cognizance of the rights of all individual, we appreciate that LGBT rights should be protected. While some churches do acknowledge it, others do not. The question therefore is: where do we draw the line between right and wrong? If the churches are guided by the values decided upon by the bible, why is it that there is this controversy? I am a strong believer in the rights of all people to exercise their free will while complying with the laws and regulations. Gay people, just like others deserve the right to have a marriage they want and the church must acknowledge this.
In this essay, I plan to show that it is wrong to deny the LGBT people from marrying in the church. To make a strong case for my argument, I plan to prove that there is no place in the bible it is indicated that gay marriage is a sin and is prohibited and that some churches oppose it due to their own ethical conscience without sound proof that there is sin in gay marriage.
From the devil’s advocate, I have learnt that evil is inside everyone and it is not an outside force. Satan never tempts people to sin, people are already tempted (Morley, 2015)..
