The details of the products should also be clearly stated. The software should also be user friendly; all these factors according to Schade (2014), will lead to successful use of the shopping cart.

This means that a customer is able to make payment in different ways like using credit cards, PayPal, and Google checkout. This is a great advantage to the customers. The business owner also gains a lot because the multiple mode of payment invites customers from different places hence increases the sales (O’Hara3013).
Another advantage is quick delivery of products. Due to the competition of online businesses, many business owners have invested in quick delivery measures most of which are doorstep deliveries. They also deliver the products as soon as possible and provide them in good condition. A shopping cart enables the business owners deliver correct amount of products purchased by a customer, as they are all in one basket, or rather the shopping cart keeps a record of all the products purchased by a customer (Appleseed, 2011).
The customer is also able to buy multiple products from one website without repeating the whole process of purchasing one product at a time (Schade, 2014). This saves the customer time as they can get all products in one website. This may also save the customer money, as they are able to get online deals. For example, a company may be offering discounts after purchasing a number of products.
The ability to track sale trends is also another advantage of the shopping cart. An analysis can always be performed to find out which product is doing well and which one is not. Payment information can also be used to know the new customers and loyal customers. A shopping cart can also help to know at what time customers make their purchases most and the time the purchases are low (Schade, 2014).
